Entry Program

About the Entry Program

The Entry program is delivered by Altered Minds Inc (AMI), a not for profit company governed by a board of directors. Board members reflect the cultural diversity of participants in the Entry Program and understand the needs of newcomers.

Mission Statement

Altered Minds Inc welcomes refugees and immigrants to Manitoba and promotes the well-being of their families and communities, locally and overseas, by harnessing resources and providing responsive programs and services that assist individuals in adapting to change and overcoming barriers to a good quality of life.

Staff

Our friendly, professional staff has a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. All our teachers are certified and highly qualified. The following languages are spoken by our staff: Cantonese, Chokwe, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Lingala, Mandarin, Punjabi, Russian,  Sinhalese, Spanish and Swahili.

Register

Register at Manitoba START, 228 Notre Dame Ave:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm


Bring one of the following:
landing papers, permanent residence card, provincial nominee program letter of acceptance, or refugee claimant paper. Bring your Manitoba Health card and your passport. Participants must be 18 years of age or have completed high school.
